The most successful time to do newborn sessions with props and posing is when baby is 5 to 12 days old. But sometimes people are unable to do a session so soon after birth, or sometimes you don't think about it until after baby arrives. And that's totally fine! I was contacted and fit sweet baby girl into my calendar she was 3 weeks old. And even though by this age they are less sleepy and less curled up from being so fresh from the womb, there is still so much newness to capture. They are so teeny tiny for a short time, they grow and change really fast! So even if it's technically past the 5 to 12 days, your baby will never be teenier or tinier then they are right now.

Katie was referred to me by a fellow photographer,   She was due any minute and i was happy to squeeze her into my schedule.     I arrived at Katies home.  Baby C. was awake during most of the parent shots which was lifestyle in their bedroom but for her portraits baby C. slept so well.   If a newborn is awake during the session we wrap her in a nice swaddle so she feels secure and we get the open eye shots then once she falls asleep we can capture the sweet squishy newborn poses that are just so adorable.    Once the session is completed you will receive a sneak peek via Facebook then about 2wks after your session you will receive a password protected gallery where you can choose the digital downloads that we included in your contract.     If you would like to purchase Albums,  or Canvases, prints or other products you can do that all on line.

There are a lot of Moms to be asking how to reserve a spot for a newborn session when we really don't know when the baby will arrive. Reserving your spot doesn't mean that we are scheduling your sessions date and time. It means that we are guaranteeing you a spot on our calendar when your baby arrives. Babies are unpredictable. I have photographed micro preemies , 32 wks, 37 weekers and babies over a month old. Even if your baby is born early or late- it doesn't matter, you are still guaranteed your spot with your reservation. You'll let us know within 48hrs after birth that your baby has arrived and we will respond with a few questions to help us determine the best dates for you. We will want to know that weight of your baby, how you both are doing , these factors will affect the date we choose for your session, which is usually between 5-11 days old.

Newborn sessions can take place in my home studio or in the comfort of your own home. Newborn sessions are relaxed and slow paced. I will talk with you about how to prepare for your session and we will discuss colors and the type of props you would like for me to bring. The Deluxe Newborn session includes parents, siblings, and pets. The Petite Newborn session is BABY ONLY.

I loved the simplicity in this maternity session.  Natural maternity photography is my favorite,  you really don't need to dress up the beauty of pregnancy portraits!  I've been so fortunate to have such great clients who I am able to follow as their family grows.  I first met this mama about five years ago for her maternity session with baby #1.  For her first maternity session we went outdoors for a nature setting at University of Richmond,   this time with baby #3 we decided to travel to Carytown for something a little different.
